Sony BDU-X10S Blu-Ray Drive Not Working Apr 5, 2009 I've recently purchased a Sony BDU-X10S Blu-Ray internal SATA ROM drive for my PC but it doesn't seem to install correctly in Windows 7. I had originally installed Seven as an upgrade install over Vista, but I didn't have the drive installed before I installed Seven. I'm dual-booting Vista and Seven at the moment and Vista seems to have no trouble with seeing the drive and playing Blu-Ray discs, but this is a less than desirable workaround.

The drive itself shows up in Device Manager under the 'DVD/CD-ROM drives' section as 'SONY BD-ROM BDU-X10S ATA DEVICE' with a little yellow exclamation mark sign on it, and the drive details read 'Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. The drive does not show up in Computer. I have tried uninstalling the driver and rebooting but when windows attempts to automatically install the proper driver I simply get a dialog box stating that an attempt to find the correct driver has failed, and to contact the manufacturer. No drivers as such came with the drive and windows Vista seemed happy enough to auto-install it without asking for any drivers. Windows update and the 'update driver' function of device manager fail to find any different drivers; they both return stating that 'the correct driver for this device is installed'. Does anyone know of any other way I can work around this?

If possible, is there a way for me to boot into my working Vista install that has no problems with the BD-ROM drive and 'extract' the driver that windows is using? Both of the versions of Windows I have installed at the moment are the x64 platform variants. Similar Messages:. ADVERTISEMENT Jun 15, 2011 i am using Windows 7 professional in my Sony Vio CR-35G. All functions and drivers are absolutely working fine instead FN key.

Oct 25, 2012 I recently installed a new HDD (Seagate ST9500424AS; p/n 9RW143-567) in my Sony VAIO VPCEH11FX and installed the OS using the Sony VAIO Recovery Media Kit (VPCE10FX Series 989203008). During the installation, I selected the default or normal settings. A short while (1-2 weeks) after the installation was complete, I noticed that the track pad was not working after enabling it using Fn+F1. (The pointing device dialog box DOES appear when I press Fn+F1 and shows that it will toggle between enable & disable). I took the computer into Fry's (where I bought it) and they booted a different OS (I think it was Windows XP) using a CD. Using this OS, the track pad worked. So it was confirmed it wasn't a hardware issue.

I proceeded to contact Sony. They had me do the following: 1) download the latest drivers & driver updates and install both. This didn't fix the problem. 2) uninstall 'Alps Pointing-device for VAIO' and run the.exe files for the driver & update. This didn't fix the problem. 3) boot the computer to recovery mode (press F10 when it starts); I noticed that the track pad was working in this mode.

4) Confirm that the other ALT keys functioned properly. (they do function properly) The Sony rep asked me to confirm the type of HDD I installed (I forget what specifically he was interested in), but upon my reading him the part number, he confirmed the HDD was compatible. The Sony rep then suggested I either recover the system to a previous version/date and see if the track pad is working. (he seems to think some software I installed might have prevented the track pad from working) He also suggested I could reformat the HDD and reinstall the entire OS. I've balked at doing either, as I'm guessing there is an issue with the registry. Feb 13, 2012 I have up installed window -7 program now my sony laptop camara not working built in. Sep 4, 2011 I'm having trouble with my Sony Vaio VGN-FW520F with the Function Key not working i tried looking up the drives from the Sony US website and cant seem to find it.

I had updated my Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows Pro and cleared my hard drive in the process. Dec 25, 2011 The notebook is Sony Vaio VGN-CS21S-W. I've upgraded to Windows 7 and the multimedia buttons stopped working. I'm talking about the sensor/touch buttons. I've installed drivers and the function buttons are ok, but still without success with multimedia buttons. Jun 18, 2011 Before the windows update, I could run vegas pro 10 fine, but for some reason the new update won't let me open it.

What happens is I would click on the vegas pro icon on the desktop and it would show the circle loading icon for like a second and then nothing happens. I tried reinstalling the software, but that doesn't work either.

Dec 23, 2012 Gesture control is not working in my e14 too Apr 7, 2011 I have purchased Sony VAIO E series three months back working without any issues. But after 2 months, the built-in keyboard and mouse not working after windows starts. USB mouse and other features working without any issues. To make the keyboard and mouse, i have should restart the system 2 to 3 times or uninstall the driver for same. The laptop having Windows 7 Home Premium. After the problem, i have reinstalled Windows 7 Enterprise and also did built-in system recover. Still the problem persists.

Is the problem related to Windows 7 or with hardware? But once the keyword and mouse drivers uninstalled via device manager working fine. OS is 64 bit Apr 10, 2011 my sony vaio's built-in bluetooth is not working. Im using windows 7 32-bit.

Jul 24, 2011 Cannot seem to get the webcam to work in any application, I think I need correct drivers or something, been on the sony website and downloaded everything that I thought would be relevant to no avail. For example when I use Windows live messenger it says 'we cannot connect to your webcam, your webcame may be in use by another program, please check it and try again' Sep 3, 2011 Saw similar problem below but my computer is brand new (out the box today) Sony Vaio VPCEH14FM came with on board Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

When I input my SD card, the card reader lights up briefly so its seeing it, but it is not appearing on my computer and when i try and run the extra drives nothing shows up. When I plug my mini sd into the usb port it works, but id like to figure out the actual sd slot for my camera? Apr 14, 2012 Ok I have just installed windows 7 32 bit operating system and now my wireless is not working!

I have a sony vaio VPCF132FX i7 processor, It use to have windows 7 home premium but the hard drive had to be re formatted and then I installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bit and there is no drivers for mine. Jan 18, 2012 Sony vaio webcam not working or even detected in device manager from what i can see. There is an unknown usb device labelled as internal usb. Its a brand new laptop, came pre installed with windows 7 pro, 64 bit. Ive read around cant find much. Oct 27, 2012 My TV is a Samsung LE40C580 and it connects to internet through ethernet cable.

The TV can find my laptop when I go onto sources but my laptop device does not find it. From Windows media player I allowed streaming through the network but when I get onto Media Play(TV's Media Player) and choose the video folder for example it says, 'No movie files on current device. Select another category'.

Same for Music and Photos. How am I supposed to fix this? Dec 24, 2011 I've recently purchased a Samsung T23A750 monitor and to my disappointment when I try to watch a movie the built in speakers are not functioning. I have a Sony Vaio Z216GX connected via HDMI to the monitor (HDMI-DVI) port.

I can definitely see the video, but no audio is playing from the speakers. The built in speakers are not at fault- I did a self-diagnosis of the monitor and the speakers seem to work fine. I also set the monitor as the default for the audio and even when Win 7 says its functioning properly, the speakers still don't work.

Conversely, setting the default to my PC speakers work fine. I'm sure its not the HDMI cable- I used the same one to hook my pc to my tv with everything working fine. Dec 14, 2011 I have a Sony Viao which does not have a disc drive and came with Windows 7 ready installed (installation was done automatically along side the process of starting computer up for first time after purchase).

Sony

I cannot remember my administrator password which in itself has caused many problems; to get around this, I think I need to re-install windows - but to do this as a function on the computer (i.e. Through the 'recovery' option on 'Assist' button/function) I must access it as an administrator. I think I need to reinstall manually through command prompt, can anyone tell me how to do this? Or do they have any additional advice? I don't have a Windows 7 disc (I've seen the 'creating a bootable USB installer' videos etc, but these seem to require a disc with windows on from which the USB is made, which I don't have!) Hence I think I need to go through command prompt. My computer literacy is not very good and I am, to be honest, at a loss of how else to get around this problem(and I would rather not spend a massive amount of money I don't have sending it to a PC shop, if i can help it).the computer itself is not old (it was brought in August 2011) and already once or twice there had been an issue with Windows were an error occured and it appeared to 'forget' windows existed (box appears saying 'operating system not found.' ), I switched it to 'safe mode' and restarted it and the problem appeared to correct itself but.

The problem is fairly urgent! I am also worried that it has a virus as I haven't been able to install new anti-virus software (requires admin password for installs etc) and hence I would like to correct the underlying problem of having no administrative authority to correct other problems asap! Apr 14, 2012 Hiya, please help if you can. My son was mucking about on his Vaio Laptop windows 7 and did a terrible thing - he copied and pasted a script.vbs (pop out your dvd drive(?) I have no idea what that means, but it don't sound good, and now it is making a funny noise and wont play any discs. Jul 31, 2012 Thought I was doing something good and proper, and I did know it was an OEM, and I did see the warning on the Sony website (I'm a dunce, I know; I just didn't think.didn't think.) to not flash an OEM drive with their firmware, but I did anyways.I'm wondcering if there's any way I can trick the drive into working again.I've downloaded all the legacy firmware I could find and am contemplating just trying all of them in succession just because I don't seem to have anything to lose at this point. But wondering if anyone has any better ideas. Jun 13, 2012 Recently upgraded my machine from 3 gigs to 4 gigs of ram so I needed to upgrade my Windows 7 OS to 64bit to use it all.

The problem is, now my external WD 1TB external drive is not recognized. I went to the Sony site for drivers for mass storage, however all I could see was a chipset.exe for 32bit vista/ Windows 7. Ran it anyway and still get the message 'Unknown device' 'Driver software was not successfully installed' Even tried using 'DriverDoctor' to install missing drivers, but no joy. Oct 29, 2012 I was working on an email Saturday when my Sony Vaio stopped working & flipped over to the black & white Vaio screen.

Since then, I've been able to reboot it once, but it flips right back over to the Vaio screen. At one point, I was able to get to the Advanced Boot Options menu by hitting F8. I tried to restore to the last known good configuration. It got to the Windows logo screen, then went back to the Vaio screen, then went to the 'Operating System could not be found' screen. The computer has a One Touch Web Access Without Booting Up feature.

Jul 21, 2011 I have just bought my new Computer having windows 7 installed. It was having a DVD-RW of Sony, but It was not working, So I installed the DVD of my old PC working 100% on old PC, But Now it is also not Working. It Reads CD/DVD but after that it shows an error: Windows cant access this disk.

The disk might be corrupt. Make sure that the disk uses a format the Windows recognizes. If the disk is unformatted you need to format it before using. May 30, 2011 For some reason my DVD rom drive isn't working anymore. I'm guessing it's a software issue as it can see the DVD but just can't play them. Jan 21, 2009 I can't use my dvd drive.

Says I do not have one but it shows it in computer management with an exclamation mark. When I try to update my drivers it says I have the best one. I also tried to use a USB cr drive but it would not show up either! Aug 19, 2011 my cd/dvd drive isn't working, and it says my aiv6vf60 IDE controller cannot start. How do I fix this? Sep 1, 2011 why my cdrom is not working Aug 26, 2012 i am need in Hp 3535 inkjet printer drivr my cd not working Dec 16, 2012 I have been working very hard to get my cd drive to appear in my computer since yesterday.

On this morning I cut my computer on and it recognized the cd drive but as soon as I restarted my computer over it disappeared. Does anybody have anymore solutions to getting my drive to work every time I boot my system up. I mean every time I restart my computer I see the light flashing on the drive and I can hit the eject and it comes open but as soon as my system boots all the way up it stops.
