I own a Lenovo S510P model laptop. Recently I noticed that, I am facing issues connecting to WIFI. I have a router in my room and When I am using laptop in room, it connects to wifi without any issues. But When I sit in hall(which is approx. 10-15 steps away from router/room) laptop wont connect. And sometimes it connects and there is no internet.

But my friends dont face this issues. They can connect to my router and use it with ease. Any help would be great PS: I also noticed same issue when I went to my friend house. So I can say that this issue might not be related to router but my PC. I believe you are correct in that it is related to your PC. Mostly by elimination as it seems to be the only device have the issue. Are you using the internal wireless or an external USB wireless adapter?

If internal try an external adapter. If already external, try a USB extension cable. An external adapter is a bit of a nuisance but if you put it on the end of a USB extension cable then you can position the adapter up and about to improve recepton. May help things. If those ideas do not help you can, at home anyway, experiment with the wireless frequencies, channels and bands to see if another selection makes a notable difference. I guess my laptop has weak WiFi range but I wonder why I had bought this laptop one year ago. May be I have to buy a external usb wifi receiver. The built in wireless adapter may be aging or otherwise becoming faulty. Casino flights from atlanta.

Many devices and components just do not last as we would hope and expect them to do. Competition drives down prices so costs must be driven down via low cost components made with cheaper stuff and less QA and testing (that also adds cost). Remember to check if you have any warranty left - after a year probably not but depending on place of purchase and payment source (credit card) you might have some extra time.

Knowingly or unknowingly. As long as the laptop is functional you can experiment and determine if, indeed, its wireless performance is detoriating. Keep a wired backup option available just in case.
