I'm having problems printing documents. The first document will always print OK after a reboot but any subsequent job is being queued and the printer paused. Starting Printer Setup Utility and releasing pause won't unblock the queue and restart printing. The only update is now when the second (or subsequent) queue sticks, the queue is showing this error: 'The printer is reporting an error!'

The original parallel lead for this printer had an HP mini parallel connector to connect to the printer. USB wasn't supported but when I added a parallel/USB adaptor lead, everything worked fine under Windows. I've only had a problem since switching to Mac at the beginning of this year so I reckon the lead probably has a lot to do with it.
