Feral Announces Rome: Total War Gold Edition For Mac
Same here, The first time, there was an update and have my DLC's disappeared and no Norsca or ROR. The second time (steam, warhammer and comp restart) it updated again and all my DLC's returned but still no Norse or ROR I uninstalled and reinstalled and still nothing so since there are people with the expansion I guess that its a Mac side thing Same here. Downloaded 8 giga yesterday - and everything disappeared. Restarted, logged-in today and downloaded another 6 giga, which restored all the stuff which had disappeared, but no Norska or RoR or anything like that.
And no feedback from them so far as I can tell. It seems bizarre as Feral have been advertising it is coming, so something has gone wrong. Looking at some of the feedback on steam, there's either a lot more mac users than I imagined, or a lot of windows users are having problems too. It's only a DLC, so i can't imagine what the hold up is. Disappointed to say the least. I need a new PC.
Just right now my Mac is the most powerful device i have. (Sucks for multiplayer though as it's just about impossible to find a game most of the time) I'm new to the game and the same thing happened with me. However I am interested in the MP battles. Could you tell me why I can't find anyone to play against in Quick Battles? I have all mods disable but have never been able to find a match. Actually thought it was a bug on my part. Message from Feral: Good afternoon.
Our plans haven't changed since we made our announcement a few weeks ago: As always, it's worth keeping an eye on our Facebook page. I've messaged them back about that statement being deliberately misleading.
The release date.was. later this summer from those messages, and they should have told people if it was going to differ. I can't see what the problem is, it's a DLC, not a new game. They've also got, by my reckoning, around 3 weeks of summer left. September isn't summer by any sensible measure. Likely not enough players, no one to ply with on a Mac, as you apperently can't play together with non-Mac users.
Why on Earth is that?? Can't play with non-MAC users? I never saw that written anywhere when the port was announced to MAC. Just another one to add to the already enormous amount of misleading information by CA and Feral. This will definitely be my last TW game.
Been playing since Empire and love the series despite all its flaw over the years, but this is it. Too much is too much. Gaming industry got to its lowest point ever since its dawn. To be honest, I'd like a PC for games alone, but I can't justify the outlay at the moment. (Have an older one of course, but it wouldn't run Total War) I don't honestly know why they can't port so Mac and Linux users can't play PC users online. It's bizarre, frankly.
A Mac is every bit as powerful as many PC's, and a lot of people have them for work. I don't understand what takes Feral so long, and i'm utterly baffled by how a DLC is taking longer. It's an expansion of an existing game.
I won't be getting TWII unless I can invest in a PC. Aside from the ridiculous waiting (which I don't really understand, christ enough people have Mac's these days, there is a market there), i don't think i'll have the space to run it and TWI (assuming you would need both to be able to play the grand campaign). That's assuming it would even run anyway. I'm just inside the minimum spec for this one, and my Mac is pretty new. I run medium unit sizes for the sake of smooth running.
Any upgrade and it won't. I get very envious when I see people online running these massive 2 on 2 battles, but I needed a computer for work, not gaming, and i'd far rather have my Mac for that. Honestly, I don't know why anyone would ever use a Mac to game.
Their desktop is a cool USD. Not everyone uses their home computer just for gaming. I honestly don't understand why this topic always pops up whenever there is a problem like this. This is mostly a communications problem of Feral/CA. No one tells you, you can't play MP together with people on a PC. It's not mentioned, and not obvious for everyone as this is not always the case. If you look up, you will see that most of us understand that we don't get the same service as PC users.

Definitely worth the money if you want a strategizing game or loved Civilizations. I’m just waiting for more releases of this game. I think the new Warhammer addition was awesome (cannot wait to try that out), but a Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones version of this game would be ABSOLUTELY incredible. This game would skyrocket - something that I want to happen for this game series because I am such an avid fan.
